OPEN Call for ARTIST RESIDENCY for FALL 2018 – SPRING/SUMMER 2019

Application period: Aug. 15 – Sept. 17, 2017


Cirko Center for New Circus welcomes applications for the 2018–2019 Artist Residency Program from contemporary circus artists who are Finnish citizens or Finnish residents as well as interdisciplinary artist groups with at least one member who is a Finnish contemporary circus artist. During the residency, artists will conduct artistic research and work on ideas for new performances. The residency is available for a desired period of time between September 2018 and August 2019.


Artists-in-residence will be working in the Solmu Auditorium. Before sending in an application, please check that you are able to work in this space. You will find the technical specifications of the Solmu Auditorium on the Cirko website.

 

Cirko accepts residency applications from Aug. 15 till Sept. 17, 2017. Late applications will not be considered. The application process is carried out online.

SEASON 2017-2018 RESIDENCY PROGRAMME

 

A total of 16 companies and artistic teams have been selected for Cirko’s season 2017-2018 residency programme. The selection is based on the open call and was made by a team consisting of Cirko’s staff. The selection criteria was professionalism, artistic quality, uniqueness, national coverage, gender equality and the proposed project’s suitability to Cirko’s facilities.

During the 2-4 week residency periods the selected companies and artists have at their disposal Cirko’s rehearsal or theatre space and social spaces. The residency companies and artists are also offered technical, production and artistic mentoring by Cirko’s staff.
